Group Thang

Here's the scenario, last Thursday in class we had to get into groups of 4 for a team negotiation. Then sometime during the week we were to meet with an opposing team to work out the contract for the merger of a hotel chain. Initially when our team met we though the contract points would be relatively easy ones to negotiate and this shouldn't be too hard. WRONG, last night we negotiated for over 2 hours with the other team not only was agreeing to every single point a long, drawn out process but everyone got mad and I mean mad as in not going to do this anymore mad..I never thought it would happen but yep, we couldn't stand the other team and their tactics and their lack of answers and they couldn't stand us..there was shouting..yep shouting over a school project..the prof told us during this unit we'd want to fight someone and I didn't believe her but yep now I do. We had to take time outs from the negotiation so people could calm down and I thought my fav Russian friend who was on the other team was going to kill someone..she yelled at us, gave us a lecture, said we'd ruined the long term relationship with her company..but that's to be expected Russian tempers and all..but what wasn't expected is this the norwegians got mad, our team captain was bright red the whole time and the norwegian on the other team everytime someone talked kept saying I don't want your pie in the sky come back to earth. But guess who got maddest? The Thais there was a Thai guy on our team Palm, we had to stop him from talking several times, was always on the edge of his seat, his vote was to tell the other team to just f--k off, the team leader of the other team was Thai and she was super mad..at one point she wouldn't even talk and refused to agree to anything. Everyone left mad and drained..should be fun on class Thurs, when we have to debrief the negotiation.

Side Note: At my new job my boss had to set me up with a logon for their company intranet, got here this am and there was a message, username yankee password doodle, made me laugh
